Ready to find hope and healing?
I’m glad you’ve found your way here.
Through our work together, you will learn there are effective and lasting solutions to resolve some of the most troublesome emotional and psychological symptoms. There are remarkable ways in which you can tap into your body’s and mind’s natural ability to heal and resolve pain.
You will also learn self-compassion and experience what it’s like to be a little kinder and less judgmental toward yourself.
Not sure what you need?
Finding the time and space to work on individual mental health can often be difficult in our modern world. Add to that the confusion of not exactly knowing what you’re looking for. In our work together, you will feel supported in finding solutions that work for you.
Therapy is not one size fits all. The therapy you receive from me will likely involve a deep dive into your life with a focus on where you are now and where you want to go.
In the first few sessions, I will listen to and validate your concerns and situations. Then, I will offer several screeners and questionnaires to get a comprehensive and holistic picture of what is happening with you.
Based on these assessments and initial sessions, you will receive personalized guidance and recommendations. Then, together, we will craft an individualized treatment plan tailored to your therapy goals. You will feel supported and guided every step of the way.
You can expect highly individualized care grounded in scientifically supported therapy assessments and methods. And you will receive affirmation of your unique story with no judgment. The entire process will occur at a pace YOU set!
Therapy leads to strength and resilience.
Through our work, I will gently challenge you to uncover things you know deeply that are keeping you stuck in old patterns and holding you back. Doing this will provide an opportunity for freedom from present suffering and new possibilities for the future.
Clients often say I am warm and compassionate with a gentle approach. I bring a soft yet powerful strength into the session, eager and ready to go deep and be fully present during the client’s most painful experiences.
About Tara Barber, LGPC
Effectiveness as a therapist requires training and experience.
I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2008. Since that time, I’ve had the opportunity to work with individuals with various mental and physical health conditions in numerous settings, including medical centers, public schools, and outpatient counseling centers. In 2024, I completed a Health and Wellness Coaching program through the Vanderbilt University Medical Center for Integrative Medicine.
It was while working on the hospital floor at the early start of the COVID pandemic that I witnessed firsthand the impact of trauma and the dire need for compassionate trauma-informed mental health care. My mission to heal others began. I completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and have been practicing EMDR therapy ever since. I am also an advanced meditator.
When not working with clients…
…you can find me on hiking trails with my two incredible children or in the kitchen cooking Indian dishes. I believe that laughter is one of the best medicines.
